I co-wrote this article for The Guardian while living in Chiapas, Mexico. All research and interviews were conducted in Spanish.
smithsonian folklife
I co-produced a multimedia storytelling series about American Ginseng in Appalachia for the 2020 Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Both my article and the storytelling series were featured on the Smithsonian Folklife Festival Blog.
THE SANDSTONE PODCAST AND CURRICULUM
I wrote, hosted, and produced Sandstone, a storytelling podcast that explores the relationship between the Arab world and Appalachia. I also developed a free multimedia curriculum for students and educators to utilize Sandstone in the classroom.
EXPATALACHIANS
I wrote a feature article for Expatalachians, a grassroots journalism project written by and for Appalachians.
